Summit Art membership is open to all persons interested in the objectives of Summit Art – supporting visual art and artists in our local community. All Summit Art sponsored events and activities rely on the volunteer efforts of our membership. Sharing time and talent is crucial to the functioning of our group and expected from all members. NOTE: New Members joining in the 4th quarter of each year (October, November or December) will have their membership dues waived, at the same level, for the next fiscal year.
ALL NEW MEMBERS MUST JOIN AS A GENERAL MEMBER FIRST! Anyone with an interest in Visual Arts in our community. A General Member who is also an artist may apply for Juried Status after two months of membership as a General Member. A General Member is encouraged to participate in Summit Art meetings, networking events, volunteer opportunities, classes and workshops and any other activities except display opportunities.
Art Educators with a certificate of teaching and will have the same privileges as general members. An Art Educator who is also an artist may apply for Juried Status after two months of membership as an Art Educator. If accepted as a Juried Artist Member, the Arts Educator will need to pay the $50 Juried Artist Membership fee in January of the next year.
Organizations, galleries and businesses may access information about Juried Artist Members and their artwork. They can proudly display their support for the Summit Art organization. Summit Art will assist in any display or exhibition opportunities hosted by the Corporate/Gallery member. Corporate/Gallery members will have the same privileges as general members. A representative from any Corporate/Gallery member who is also an artist must apply for individual General Membership and be a General Member for two months before applying for Juried Status. Then, the $50 Juried Artist Membership fee will be due in January of the next year.
Students through high school and will have the same privileges as general members. Once a student has graduated from high school and/or reaches the age of 18, they will be required to become General Members in order to continue with Summit Art membership. A Student Member who is also an artist may apply for Juried Status after two months of membership as a Student Member, and if accepted, will then need to pay the $50 Juried Artist Membership fee.
Artists who have been accepted for membership under a juried process. All artists who wish to apply as a Juried Artist Member must first hold membership status in one of the other categories of membership for at least two months prior to making application. Juried Artist Members are entitled to display their art at Summit Art venues and events. New juried artist members will be juried in twice a year, based on artistic merit in a process administered by a Jury Committee. Summit Art retains a percentage of the total purchase price of all artwork as a fee for service. Read the INTRUCTIONS TO BECOME A JURIED ARTIST MEMBER HERE.
The deadline for applying for the May jury session each year is May 1. Applications will only be accepted April 1 to May 1 each year for this session.
