Photographers & Friends

Purpose Statement:

We provide a visual art educational setting intended for, but not limited to, photographers. We do this in a non-competitive environment using a constructive critique setting that results in actionable suggestions with a perspective that results in improved skill sets for attendees.

Summit Art hosts a monthly group critique for area photographers. You don’t have to be a member of Summit Art to attend, as all area photographers and their friends are welcome!

The monthly sessions are usually held on the 4th Thursday of every month at Bridge Space (old Post Office in downtown Lee’s Summit). In November and December, the session is held on the third Thursday due to the holidays. Our group helps you improve your image capture and post-processing through constructive critique and mentoring of both your work and that of others.

“Tom keeps us actively informed with his reminder emails and updates, Ramon guides us with his artistic eye, and Paul (“F” for “flip it”) McMillian reminds us there is always another angle to pursue. Each has worked hard to give us a variety of unique and thoughtful opportunities as well as keeping us informed of the many local photographic venues and resources throughout Kansas City and beyond. It is through their efforts that many of us have evolved from hobbyist and amateurs to more serious and involved fine art photographers.” Christine Chandler, Juried Artist, fine art photographer and friend
