Preliminary plans include plein air artists from all across the country, a fine art photography exhibition, a gala awards ceremony, live music and food trucks! Plein Air events are fun, exciting and engaging, and they are a great way to bring art and community together.
ARTISTS – Do you like to paint in the great outdoors? Would you like to give this a try?
There is NO COST for painters to participate in this preview event on Sunday, October 18, 2020, from 2:00 to 5:00pm. It’s an opportunity to visit the grounds and discover the possibilities for creating art on this magnificent, historical site. We hope you will enjoy it so much that you will want to participate in our BIG EVENT, which will be open to the public, in April. (More details on that in the coming months.)
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
Bring along your painting supplies and come see how delightful it is to paint in the fresh air and to observe a scene in its natural light. Once you give it a try, you just might get hooked for life! Visit the site on Sunday, October 18, 2020, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm and paint any scene from anywhere on the grounds.
WHAT TO BRING? a chair, a few paints, something to paint on (canvas/paper) and something to paint with (paintbrush or two).
Artists must register in advance to reserve your spot, as participation is limited due to current COVID-19 guidelines. You don’t have to be a member of Summit Art to participate, so grab your artist friends to join in the fun! This preview event will NOT be open to the public in October, due to the pandemic; however, we will be doing FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM LIVE sessions throughout the site from 2:00 to 5:00pm for the public to watch.
