Carol Waller

I have been a student and lover of the arts all my life. My first success as an artist came when I was twelve years old. I submitted a billboard design to the St. Louis Christmas Carol Association and won the competition amount multiple participating local schools. My art was displayed to the public on a large city billboard.

Attending private watercolor classes for many years, I began painting largely in watercolors. I accepted commissioned work and sold my art in bookstores while my kids were young. Life got very busy, and I was unable to pursue my love for art in the way I would have liked for some years. In 2013, I enrolled as a student at the Kansas City Art Institute to pursue my love of art. As a result, I expanded my skill set to become proficient in acrylic painting, and mixed media art.

I am also a Photography enthusiast and often capture our beautiful city in photos to display and use as perspective references for my paintings. I am thrilled to be one of the artists chosen to participate in bringing the Parade of Hearts in Kansas City in spring of 2022. My heart titled “The Jewels of the Heartland” is currently located at the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. through the end of May.
