Susan Plunkett

“I love to paint plein air, so many of my paintings are landscapes. I love to capture the light and how it falls on a subject.”

Susan Is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. Susan’s interest in art began as a young child when her Mother gave her a big book of world famous paintings. She and her sister spent hours marveling at the beautiful masterpieces.

During her travels years later, Susan was delighted and surprised to discover some of those same paintings in museums, she had never dreamed of getting to see them in person. Susan studied art in college and later when she was raising her family, but unfortunately found she couldn’t give it the attention it deserved. It was not until her children left home that she was able to work on her art seriously.

She was a charter member of a group of artists in Little Rock who run one of the most successful galleries in the State, The Art Group Gallery. She was also on the board of the Arkansas League of Artists.

She works in oil, acrylic and watercolor. She enjoys traveling and always has her sketchbook handy. She has studied art in France and at the La Romeda Art School in Italy as well as various workshops across America with Master painters.
