Summit Art is excited to announce that registrations are NOW OPEN for artists to participate in our 3rd annual Summit Art Plein Air Festival! This year, we’ve moved the festival to June when all the amazing florals will be in bloom, and the weather should be warmer!
Spend a few glorious days painting on 31 acres at Crestview Dairy including one day in the historic and bustling downtown entertainment district of Lee’s Summit.
At the Dairy, you’ll be able to explore lush flora, 100 year old trees, authentic buildings, two lakes and many charming landscapes, among other visual splendor to capture. In downtown, there are many charming spaces and places to select including fountains, sculptures, historic buildings and architecture, parks, people and boutiques.
On Saturday morning, don’t miss the Kids Fishing Derby to capture wonderful scenes around the lake. Do you like painting after dark? Clip those headlights to your hats and enjoy capturing the Dairy on Wednesday evening following the Kickoff Cookout.
The public is invited to explore the property and other locations as they watch the artists paint. The event culminates in an Awards Celebration with an Art Show and Sale where art patrons have the opportunity to collect artworks from prominent plein air painters from all across the country.
Co-hosted by Summit Art and Crestview Dairy. Sponsored by the HB Oppenheimer Foundation.

Help kids get hooked on fishing!
Saturday, June 17 – 9:00 am to 10:30 am
Fishing helps kids discover nature and conserve it, too. Bring the kiddos to learn about fish, fish habitat and fishing techniques. All participants are asked to donate $5 to Summit Art to help support local artists. This event is open to the public, and you may see artists set up around the lake to create an original painting that will be available for purchase. Kids from ages 5-11 can compete to catch the largest fish, the smallest fish and the most fish!
John Rittel, Missouri Department of Conservation, will be in charge and will provide instruction. If you have your own tackle, please bring it. If you don’t, John will have some to loan. He’ll provide the bait, too!
