Juried Artist Application

Spring 2026

Juried Artist Members are artists who have been accepted into a particular media category based on artistic merit. The benefits of Juried Artist membership include:

  • Opportunity to display art at Summit Art venues, exhibitions, and events. Note that Summit Art retains a percentage (%) of the total of each sale as a fee for service.

  • Possible waivers or discounts of application, jury, and/or registration fees to Summit Art-managed events. 

  • Potential opportunity to display at exhibitions/events coordinated and/or managed by Summit Art at various locations throughout the greater Kansas City area.

  • Ability to use the digital logo “Summit Art Juried Artist” on personal and/or business platforms.

How to Apply for Juried Artist Membership

Any artist who has been a current an active member of Summit Art for at least two months may apply for juried artist status. Jury sessions take place twice a year in May and November.  

Any current Juried Artist member can also apply for acceptance into additional media categories.

All applicants are asked to follow the steps below. 

Preparations to Apply

  • Review the Jury 101 Prep slide deck.

  • Choose FIVE (5) of your best pieces for submission in each medium for which you are applying.

  • Photograph (or collect photographs of) these five pieces.

  • Crop all images of artwork to show ONLY THE ART.  (No frame, mat, or background.)

  • For 2D, hanging artwork: From the five pieces you choose to submit, select one piece and prepare two additional images. Have a quality photo of this piece IN ITS FRAME (if applicable) and one quality photo of the BACK of the piece in its frame that shows the hanging wires, d-rings and finished presentation (any paper coverings, artist descriptions, etc). Jurors want to see how you prepare your artwork for hanging in a gallery.

  • Complete and submit the application below by April 30, 11:59pm.
