Luanne Marten

As a painter, designer and illustrator, I’ve created art for kids’ publishing, licensed products, and graphic design over the last 20 years. I recently returned to fine art painting and plein air. My Iowa farm roots keep me grounded and inspired, with rural themes and florals being favorite painting subjects.

• Publishing: kids magazines, Highlights magazines group, 40+ educational readers, religious publishers’ materials for kids
• Licensed Products: paper napkins, mugs, trays, dishware, greeting cards, garden flags, and home decor
• Graphic Design: designer for a small vegetable oil company in Kansas City

My art education includes:

• Visual Communication BFA, dual track: illustration and graphic design, University of Kansas
• Various workshops and classes with watercolor, pastel, acrylic and oil painters/instructors since circa 1995
